Coconut Oil

Coconuts are Magic  -- Jenna Said So

JennaMarbles is Crassy. (Crass + Classy + Lady). Her humour is very, very similar to mine on the days I can't be bothered to remember to Just For Today Find Zen. I'm distracting myself all day by reading and listening and watching her blog.

She had a blog post about Coconut Oil. Inside and out, there are a lot, A LOT of benefits. My top two benefits I want is appetite suppressor and skin softener. I choose this because I'm chowing down on a 400g chocolate bar, even though I'm feeling nauseous. And I'm seeing how many times the fibers in my blanket will catch on my foot.

Makes sense.

Yoga Goal -- Accomplished

An entire summer of practising this pose, lots of head and nose smashes into the ground. I wasn't able to hold it for enough time to count; maybe this summer I will try again!

Edit: Thanks to a friend of a friend, I can now successfully hold this pose for 5+ seconds! YAY! GOAL ACCOMPLISHED!!

Coffee, Caffeine

I have drank too much coffee today. I get nauseous when I hit a certain level of caffeine intake. I don't know how much this is, but it's about 4 cups of coffee.  I've never hit it while eating chocolate; I don't think.

A few people I know have recently decided to 'give up' coffee. I don't know their reasons.. but I do know they still drink Coke, Diet Coke, and other pop drinks. I don't normally drink pop drinks (gingerale with a sore throat is for comfort, not for thirst). So, if you give up coffee, but stick to pop, what are you really giving up? You're still feeding your addiction, please...
(some people just don't get addiction)
(deny deny deny)

I'm reading some information from Health Canada about caffeine, side effects, daily recommended intake, etc. There are many studies out there; the internet will tell you all sorts of things. So it came down for me to just trust 1 source, and stick to that. I chose Health Canada.

My action plan? Based on all this and life experience? The answer to everything; Moderation.  I think my body sends me a pretty good warning sign that I've had enough. Also, I'm out of  Van Houttes Columbian dark.

Fill 'er up!

Recycle Fashionably

I just got this in my inbox, and I'm going to share a couple with you...

Ever see something and wish you could find a practical use for it? And then you pass it by because you can't think of anything? And then regret it?  Here are some ideas ...

Old Fancy Vents can be turned into wall mounted storage units.

An old CLEANED OUT birdcage is a cute place to put mail .

Salt and Pepper type containers can hold bath salts, other lotions and goos  you find in the bathroom

The black thing is an old shutter. Here they are using it to hold paper, mail, and from there you can add your imagination. Saw it in half and hang beside your corkboard. Have inside shutters that hold things.

Chocolate Chantilly: A Recipe

INSTANT CHOCOLATE MOUSSE (CHOCOLATE CHANTILLY)

Recipe by Herve This & Heston Blumenthal

Ingredients
9.35 ounces (265 grams) bittersweet (%70 cocoa solids) chocolate, chopped
1 cup (240 ml) water
4 tbsp sugar, optional

Method
Place a large mixing bowl on top of another slightly smaller one, filled with ice and cold water (the bottom of the large bowl should touch the ice). Set aside.

Put chocolate and water (also sugar and/or liquor if you’re using) in a medium-sized pan and melt the chocolate over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Pour the melted chocolate into the mixing bowl sitting on top of ice and water, and start whisking with a wire whisk (or an electrical hand-held mixer) until thick. Watch the texture as you whip and make sure not to over-whip as it will make the mousse grainy.

If the mousse becomes grainy (which is possible at your first try), transfer it back into the pan, reheat until half of it is melted, pour it back to the mixing bowl and whisk again briefly.

Divide into four serving cups and serve immediately.

... I'd still have eaten it.

Love.Laugh.Read-it

I made this blog because my friend has a blog and I love to read it.
Also because I am staying at work until later.

There is a lot of pressure on the first post, even when it's the first one to be hidden.

This is my blog. These are things I like.

I usually post when I am happi. When I am sad, I dive into my cave and hide. It's pretty cozi in my cave.

I will post things that I like. I will post pictures and talk about books. I will link to my friends blogs. I will show you all the things that make me smile, and hopefully they make you smile too.
